Trying to limit the bandwidth on ether5 to 30MB download and 2mb upload.
Obviously I can’t do that per the interface setup, how can I create that with a que.
I tried looking in the wiki but couldn’t find one to exactly match my setup.
Thank you

What I am trying to do is limit bandwidth to another router, a customer owned router behind mine.
I can limit them by either port, or MAC address, or their IP I suppose.
They receive an ip from the DHCP server but I can always make it static and set the bandwidth limits that way correct?
Any help here? Or if anyone knows of a link on the wiki can you link me to it?
Thanks
You can do this also on interface, I’v done it with my rb, what you need to do is select the interface and turn off the slave option, so in the interface settings where you see "Master port : " if you set this to none, then this interface will separate the trafic, so you can add a dhcp if you need to that, and then you can use this in queue to prioritize or limit etc…
in my case at home this works fine, but in office I dont use dhcp because of MS Server which is a DHCP in our network, and somehow what I discribed for you above does not work, I have to find out why.
Anyone else?
I suppose I could setup a DHCP server on ether5? And then que that IP range to the speeds I want?
you want to limit speed or total bandwidth uses
if speed then setup a simple queue in
target address put the ip of client
in max limit field put your download upload speed and that’s it
Yesterday my setup stopped functioning, my devices on the separated port were not able to get any ip or dns, for a week it was alright, i didnot change anything, it just stopped working ![]()
Hi,
This thread is old, but it’s worth mentioning for others with same issue;
Have you added the interface to your Bridge once you removed interface from master ?
