I have a Mikrotik router. I am having a trouble with a transfer.
I have 2 network (net 192.168.1.0/24 and net 192.168.100.0/24). If I transfer one file to net 192.168.100.X → External_Server I get maximum BW (around 35MB/s).
If I transfer one file from net 192.168.1.X → External_Server I get 3MB/s (sometimes 2, 1, or 3.1, but not max).
I have 4 server on net 192.168.1.X and all transfers get max 3MB/s. I haven’t any in Queue
Servers with network 192.168.1.X are connected directly to router Mikrotik (no switch in middle). Computers in net 192.168.100.X have a switch between router-computer but I get maximum BW.
4 server on network 192.168.1.X haven’t much traffic to be saturated.
Why? Where could I check if there are any limit on network?
Hi, thanks for reply. I am using Mikrotik CCR1016-12G.
I have port 7,8,9 with a bridge (servers), in that ports are the servers which has a down BW (around 3MB/s). In ports 3-6 are switchs with normal BW, here I have PC employees.
If I sent an file from PC employees to external network I get 30MB/s, if I sent a file from servers (port 8 in this case), I get around 3MB/s.
When I transfer, router didn’t load much, I check graphs and I am using very low traffic.
Here a example load actual network servers (port 7,8,9) →
Max In: 60.39Mb; Average In: 507.78Kb; Current In: 60.39Mb;
Would it be possible to plug a PC, with verified good BW, into server switch and do a test there? This would allow you to verify if its a software issue.
If PC would then have a limited bandwidth, have a look at the bridge configuration, as that’s the only thing i can think off, if there are no queues.
PC has good BW, in another port (8 in same bridge) I can transfer a good BW. 3 server have same bridge. Port 7 is a NAS server and there I am having troubles.
Maybe NAS is the problem… they isn’t opensource and I can’t debug it correctly but I want to discard that its was a problem with my router/bridge/queue…
That’s then confirmed that it is not MT, as PC could transfer good BW in same port.
Good luck with the investigation. Few things I can think off: verify cpu usage, io activity, tcp window size tuning
Hmm.. how old are mikrotik? Maybe the psysical port die… infinitive..
You can make a test.
Make a backup and input in another psy or virtual mt and test this port.
Test will discovery whether is a problem hardware or software.
