Hi all I have a 10.1.1.x network and I need to limit one device to 10 MB’s and one device to 3MB’s. In simple queues I only see the available option for up to 2M. Can I just put 10M in for target upload and target download?
Also what should be the destination address.. the device on network, the gateway, or 0.0.0.0?? And why is there a whole other set of the same options (target upload/download) on the advanced tab of simple queues?? Does this apply to something else??
Ive filled in targetl max upload/download to 3M on the general tab, the advanced tab, and the total tab. but its still getting about 9MB up and down, which is the total bandwith for the network.
I also tried putting the gateway address and 0.0.0.0 in the destination address.. I seem to be missing something, any suggestions??
OK so I figured out what I was doing wrong. I set the interface to eth2 which the device is connected too and nothing was happening. Then I changed the interface setting to all and the rate limiting occurred. So my question is why does it need to be on all ports instead of the port that this machine is connected to and uses for a gateway to its subnet?
