Limiting on Packet Size

Hi Folks,

Having a issue with clients who are infected with virii such as Welchia and Blaster and the way in which they spam the links with lots of small packets.

This reeks havoc with wireless connections and basically causes a DoS on that AP.

Is there any way that I can rate limit based upon packet size? Like packets <n size will be limited after so many for so long?

The shaper will be placed on the client side of the link for obvious reasons.

(Yes, we have asked nicely to have clients clean up their network, but a few are proving to be a tad stubborn).

Apart from technical solutions I would suggest telling your customers that you will have to shut them down if they are not getting their virus problem fixed. Don’t you have such clauses in your usage policy or something like that?
It prove very helpful for us more than a few times…
