link problem on RB433AH equipped with XR3

Dear people,

I need your help to solve my problem with XR3 card.

I install XR2 on a couple of Mikrotik RB433AH in wds mode and they work fine. After that I swapped them with the XR3-3.5 Frequency Range. I have the following config:

[1st rb433AH]
mode:ap_bridge
band: 5GHz-5MHz (I know there is a 2GHz down conversion)
fx:5765 Mhz

[2nd rb433AH]
mode:wds station
band: 5GHz-5MHz
fx:5765 Mhz

All other settings are default.
Sometime they link but they are very unstable (link lost every 5 minute). If I change any other fx there is no way to link them.
If I change the band to 5GHz-10Mhz I cannot link them at all.

The strange matter is that if I look at ‘status’ pan in the wds station I can see the frequency scan but they never link even if the frequency match. Besides the frequency scan is not in a linear way but it seem completely random. I made a freq scan and I can only see a very low freq usage (less than 0.7%) only in 5765,5770,5775 channel.
My MT level is 5 and version is 4.11.

Can you help me?
Thanks
Gatman

So, your using an XR3 to establish a connection on 5Ghz?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wouldn’t it make more sense to use an XR5 to make this work? XR3’s are designed to work in the 3Ghz band, not 5Ghz.

verify your antenna pigtails and connectors. if you link on 5mhz channels and not above, transmit/receive problems can be likely. can you post some screenshots of winbox or tell use levels like ccq, tx/rx receive/xmit etc? you radiate more power with 5 mhz channel spacing than any other size channel thus indicate possible signal/antenna/cabling issues.

ah2480: he is using xr3’s which are a 5ghz card witch use a built-in UDC (Up/Down Converter) to use at licensed 3.65ghz. (They also make the same card in 2.7ghz and 3.4ghz flavors)
