Linking two rooms at high speed.

Hi All,

I have ordered 2 x RB600a and 4 x R52N, I want to do the following:

1 x RB600a with 2 x R52N installed in room 1
---- 1 x R52N for a 5Ghz ‘N’ AP, WPA2 security
---- 1 x R52N for a 5Ghz p2p link to room 2
---- PCs connected to the 3 x GigE ports

1 x RB600a with 2 x R52N installed in room 2
---- 1 x R52N for a 2.4Ghz ‘N’ AP, WPA2 security
---- 1 x R52N for a 5Ghz p2p link to room 1
---- PCs connected to the 3 x GigE ports

The question is how best to configure routerOS, I want the p2p link to be as fast as possible (>100Mbps TCP), and all the devices in both rooms linked to the GigE ports should be able to talk to each other.

Ideally everything should be bridged.

Also any recomendations for small directional antennas for the p2p link, the two rooms are only 10 metres apart?

If it’s only 10m, just run a cable. You are not going to get over 100 Mbps TCP.
