Linksys WRT54G and Dlink DI-604 no connect to MT PPPOE

Hello,

I have problems with this two router models. The WRT54G from Linksys and the DI-604 from Dlink. When I set them up to connect via pppoe the server will not give them an ip address nor will connect to the MT PPPOE Server. Any ideas? I have a couple of clients that have this problem… They connect fine to DSL PPPOE but not to the MT PPPOE.

check your allowed authentication meathods, those devices do not use any sort of encryption (i.e. basic / plain text)

Do you mean to check this on the MT or on the routers itself. The MT has all check ob the authentication.

I use RADIUS for all my authentication, so I have to set the no-encryption options in my radius server. if you’re using local accounts, then try making sure you’re not using the default-encryption profile, but the default, or create another profile similar, but do not require any encryption.

I’ve DI-604 working here without any problems. There are two kind of PPPOE connection Static and Dynamic in DI-604 maybe your problem is out there.

you’re not disableing encryption, you are allowing un-encrypted logon requests. how that is done depends on your radius server.

you also have to change the PPP Profile in MT to match accordingly.
