Linux kernel?

Is it possible to get sources of Linux kernel and kernel patches used for RouterOS on RB150? I know that it’s Linux-based so sources must be available.

I’m not interested in routing and advanced network support (aside from simple TCP/IP connectivity). And I’m not going to create a competing product.

I’m trying to build a device based on RouterBoard 150 but so far I can’t get it to load my kernel :frowning: RB150 has preloaded RouterOS and I can’t even get it to load my binaries.

One recent thread over OpenWRT.org:

Certainly there are more threads about it…

Thanks for that link!

Of course, I’ve tried to Google about Linux on RBs but I’ve missed this post.

Still, a working 2.6 kernel from RouterOS would be really nice. We’re ready to pay for it and/or sign non-compete/NDA contracts (even though it should be available under GPL).

If I am not completely mistaken then the OpenWRT Kamikaze branch should be working already on RouterBoards.

But you can get all you need from Mikrotik as well:

To get a CD with the corresponding source code for the GPL-covered programs in this distribution, wire transfer $45 to MikroTikls SIA, Pernavas 46, Riga, LV-1009, Latvia. Please contact MikroTikls SIA for our current account information and wire transfer instructions. Offer valid until 2010. This CD will only include the source code of the following programs according to the license requirements. This CD will not include MikroTikls proprietary SOFTWARE.

Thanks! We’ll buy that CD from Microtik.

actually, all the patches you need can be downloaded from routerboard.com

I can’t find patches anywhere on routerboard.com, could you point me to the link? Thanks.
