Is it possible to use netinstall to install an x86 version of routeros onto a compact flash?
I’ve no problems running winbox with wine and ubuntu but when I run netinstall there are no drive mappings for the compact flash card (via a USB card reader).
Do I need to partition, format and mount the CF card prior to the netinstall ?
thanks for any help - I really don’t want to have to setup a windows box just for this purpose!
for vmware you can try to access your CF adapter directly and map that device to vm-guest, but i am not sure if that will work as you and me expect it.
safe bet would be to run netinstall in your guest or using gksudo in native linux and run installation over netowrk - as it is know, that this is working correctly and without any problems.
I’ve turned off firewall, but the Netinstall.exe will receive “REQ RECEIVED: bind tftp general failed: (10048)” and will crash. How to get it to bind into tftp or what it is trying to do?
Also, I see a lot of similar messages under Wine when the device is Ethernet booting:
