Little bit disappointed with RB2011UAS-RM mechanical quality

Hi,

my RB2011UAS-RM has finally arrived. At first glance it is a nice box, but at the second glance, I am little disappointed with its mechanical quality of the make. First flaw is a narrow hole for a power cable from the adapter. Edges of the hole are sharp enough to damage cable and it will sooner or later go through its insulation and short. For second I prefer to spent some more money for internal power supply with standard power socket (problems with CE, certification, etc ?) in the back. At last, front venting holes of the triangular shape are made from some plastic sticker and not from the metal as a rest of the housing.

Oh, one more thing. In my box the screws which are holding the PCB inside the housing, weren’t tightened enough so the PCB was moving inside up and down. Please, add more effort to the QA.

After all, I did some modification to my unit. I have added internal power supply module and power socket. Hopefully it won’t blown away  One more thing, the unit with attached rack mounting clamps it little bit to wide so I had to use more force to mount unit in the rack (standard Triton).

I was less than impressed with build quality as well internally and externally. If I had paid more than $110US for it, even just $20 more, it would have been sent back once I saw it.

Great job on the internal PSU.. That’s how it should have came.

I’d follow your lead, But I’m not willing to put a dime more into my rb2011uas-rm
