Although MT does support the WanPMC1T3E3 card the reporting is not working. Will there be better support for these cards in the future?
It would be nice to have:
Status reporting i.e. bits in/out
Actual DS-3 loop stats, this is good for troubleshooting when things don’t work or when first setting up the link. (Although in my case everything has been working great. Well, aside from the time when an engineer half unplugged one of the COAX and it took us an hour to figure it out).
When it works it works! When it doesn’t work, and I don’t know why. That is the problem.
We had a problem when we first installed the router with the card where the BNC connector was loose, and since this router is more then an hours drive on the highway I needed to call the other end of the DS3 who is 4 hours drive in the other directon and try to figure out what happend. He asked me about dignostic information on my interface (thinking that I was using a cisco) and I had to tell him I had none.
The SBE cards are great cards and I hear nothing but good things about them. The card has linux support. It would be great if there was some kind of reporting. At least notification of errors and alarms.
