Load balancing - 2 links 300mbps each

Hello my friends! I’m new with Mikrotik and need some help.

I’m looking for a mikrotik that can be used as load balancer for 2 links (WAN) with 300mbps each. The router shoul have at least 300mbps NAT Throughput.
Currently I’m using a TP-Link TL-ER6020 that have only 100mbps NAT Throughput. I’m throwing money, losing speed with the links.

What product do you recommend to me?

Thanks in advance!
Alex.

A RB4011 should be capable of doing it. It comes in two versions, one is wired only, the other has wireless as well.

There are some slightly less capable routers which might (or might not) do it as well. One such model is RBD52G.

There are some more capable routers as well, but come with business-class price tag - CCR series.

What about the RB450gx4 routerboard??

Hello! Thanks for your reply!

My main worry is about the bandwidth supported. It should have the capacity to deliver at least 300mbps to the client.
As there will have few clients, the processing needs will be low.

I was interested in RBD52G, because of the low price and it’s more powerful than RB750 that I was looking before.
Is it possible to configure load balancing with failover with RBD52G?

Thanks!!

Every Routerboard running RouterOS has (almost) the same functionality, only performance is different.

So yes, RBD52G can do load balancing with failover just as much as high-end Routerboards can do it. As I already wrote, RBD52G is capable of routing at 2x300 Mbps (not without blinking the eye though) … but then this depends on what kind of packet processing it’s supposed to perform. This forum has seen some setups that would kill all performance on any Routerboard, even the most powerful ones (i.e. CCR1072 or CHR on a beefy hardware).

Thank you mkx! Now I’m decided.

I’ll buy one RBD52G… it’s for routing regular internet access, but with high availability, using 2 links 300 mbps. I think it will work fine.

Thank you guys for your help.
