Load balancing over bonded pptp tunnels.

Trying to figure out how to make use of 2 adsl lines that I’m using pptp tunnels over at the moment.

I currently have:

============   =========                      ================
|          |---| ADSL 1|------PPTP Tunnel 1---|              |   =================
| Mikrotik |    =======                       | Remote ADSL  |---|Remote Mikrotik|
|          |---| ADSL 2|------PPTP Tunnel 2---|              |   =================
============   =========                      ================

The main mikrotik has 2 adsl connections, both which run at 8mb/386kb
The remote site also has an 8mb/386kb

I’m using EoIP interfaces (2 on each end) that are then bonded on each end, although at the moment regardless of which bonding method I use, when I try a speed test the connection ends up using only 386kb either way like so

PPTP 1: 0/380kb
PPTP 2: 380kb/0bs

Any ideas on how I’m able to get the full 700kb~ upload to the remote site?

Yes, that should work and it did work up until ROS 3.0. I have been trying to convince MT that there is an error however I have not heard anything back.

Ok that explains it, I assumed it should be ok but hadn’t tried a configuration like this on anything before v3.0
Is a mikrotik rep or someone else that has tried this able to confirm or deny?

Enable arp-monitoring and try Broadcast method? Then try RR…that seems to get you up there, but no where near the results we were getting on July 28th, 2008.
