Local Only? Please help.

Hey All, I’m following http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Hotspot_server_setup.

One step it seems was missed in the wiki was setting the wireless ( in wiki ether2, in my case wlan1 ) to

Mode:ap bridge
Band:2.4GHz-B/G

I set up the gateway and dns number according to what the company I purchase internet service through.
Now I can connect to the wireless hotspot network with multiple computers and they all get “Local Only” and the computers can see each other. but no internet…

I’ve tried and tried to no avail. Any help you can give me or a push in the right direction would be GREAT!

Sounds like you are having trouble with Vista computers. I personally think it is a Vista bug that Microsoft won’t admit to but at any rate, upgrading to 3.10 or better should fix the problem. If that doesn’t work, set static dhcp leases for the clients. If that doesn’t work, disable the firewall in Vista.


But if you upgrade to 3.10 and you should be good.
