Logentries on CRS-226 v6.31 -> "excessive broadcasts/multicasts, probably a loop"

Hello all,

I’ve switched an uplink from a CCR-1016 to a CRS-226 to another CRS-226 (both with the same type and same ROS-Version v6.31). On the new one i get every 30 seconds the warning message:

→ “ether1 excessive broadcasts/multicasts, probably a loop”.

The two CRSs are connected through SFP+ Fiber with 10G.

How can i debug the corresponding traffic to find out the reason for that. I cannot see any ominous paket in torch of the interface.

The CRS interfaces are all switched together in one master-interface (ether1).

I’ve now changed the cable from ether1 to ether2 and the warnings don’t come any longer. The ether1 interface is also the master-interface for all other interfaces. Is that the reason for this error-messages?

Hello all,

i now have the same symptom on a RB2011iL with exactly the same warning messages.

For me it seems, when i connect an ethernet link to the master-interface of a switch i get exactly this message:

[interface, warning ether8 excessive broadcasts/multicasts, probably a loop]

But i’m sure that there is absolutely no loop on one of the interfaces connected.

I think this message has been seen first on 6.31

Regards

Hans-Peter

This problem has been fixed in RouterOS v6.32.2.

What’s new in 6.32.2 (2015-Sep-17 15:20):
