Logging management

I need to separate my log file into Syslog “DHCP assigned” messages and service outage notifications. That way I don’t have to sort through many DHCP logs to see the important service outages that occur. Currently, I am using the notification feature to show a log of recent service outages. But that clears its history when closed.

I see here that the image shows multiple separate log files under logs. https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:The_Dude/Logs

I can not find how I might replicate this. I only have “log” not “logs”. When I click it I see this: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6OUI5JyeQ5IWnFfbUs5a0RNMW8/view?usp=sharing

How can I separate my log files for easier reading?

Jightning,

What version of the Dude do you use?
On the link you provided is Dude v4.

Current version of Dude is v6 and there were some changes, with logging too: Dude v6 - Missing features from earlier versions.

It was already discussed on the forum about logging in Dude v6: The Dude 6.39.2 Log Files.

Thank you!

ok, thanks
