I just obtained an RB450G and am trying to set it up and learn how to use it.
When I connect the router to a computer, I get a DHCP lease of 192.168.1.25x and the router has an IP address of 192.168.1.1 .
When I try to connect to the web config, I input what I believe is the default user/pass of admin as the username and a blank password. When I do this I get an “invalid username or password” error. When I try to use Winbox or Telnet I obviously get the same type of error.
I have tried to reset the router, but as far as I can tell, I haven’t had any luck. To reset the router, do you push on the button adjacent to the power jack while the router is booting (i.e. push button, then plug in router, then wait while holding button down), or is there some other method to reset the device? Or could it be that I am resetting the device but I have the default login wrong so it obviously won’t work when I retry?
I feel like I may be doing something stupid and there is a simple fix, but I have read the online wiki/manual and tried everything I can think of.
Any help would be much appreciated!
