We are currently developing an autonomous boat that can be controlled via Wi-Fi. We are searching for a Wi-Fi module that can cover a range between 1 km to 5 km.
- The lake area has no obstacles that interfere with the ground station wifi and boat wifi signals.

We have found two Groove 52 modules that we can use. One is located on the ground station, and the other is on the boat. However, this setup has a limited range of only 250m.
We have reached out to a vendor for advice on our setup and they suggested using a 90-degree mANTbox ax15s on the ground station and an omiITK 5ac on the boat. However, we discovered that the omiITK 5ac only supports 5Ghz, which means that when we use the mANTbox ax15s 5Ghz, it only covers a 60-degree range. If anyone has experience with a similar setup, we would appreciate it if you could share the details with us. Your input would be very helpful.
and there will be likely problems with interferences, maybe you are expecting too much from Mikrotik hardware, and you should look (if budget aloows this) at higher end devices.
