Looking for a new SOHO Mikrotik for home.

Hey all I need to buy a new Mikrotik for my home office. My current RB951Ui-2HnD I got from a MUM awhile back for some reason has always been loud as hell (lots of clicking sounds).


Any suggestions given the following requirements:

  • gigabit ports (at least 5)
  • wireless N
  • QUIET :slight_smile:
  • POE 802.3af/at compliant output to drive Qty 2 Cisco phones

The POE requirement is what will kill me but for now I am looking at:

CRS109-8G-1S-2HnD-IN - Am I correct that the “802.3af/at compliant” feature on this device means it can be powered by 802.3af/at not actually power other devices?

Unfortunately, Mikrotik doesn’t have what you are looking for. Mainly the PoE.

There are plenty of cheap POE injectors that a Cisco Phone could work wtih.
