Hi, can someone point me at the best Wireless home router setup?
We plan to give 100/100 mbps internet connection to our customers.
We want 5 and 2.4 band (5g 3 chains are not important since almost mobile device are 2 chains max)
all ports 1gb
Poe ports
Router OS
We need a good wifi coverage, not important to reach full speed at -80. But yes if we are close to the router.
It can be combo, ex : poe router 1gb + wifi radio such as wap ac
We tried :
Wap AC and RB952Ui-5ac2nD, but the wifi speed is very horrible. Never more than 50-60 mbps on a clean 5 ac channel with -55db The wan capable of 125mbps.
@ -60 I can certainly reach up to 100mbps. If you read my previous post : I said that is not important to reach this speed at -80. We consider that -80 is too far from the router.
But at a closer range and with -60, I should reach decent speed. Other ac router can do. I can’t believe mikrotik are not able too.
hAP AC & wAP AC are the best! I can do over 150Mbps on my cell phone. Many times poor results are poor channel selection or channel widths. The receive sensitivity and antenna gain make the hAP & wAP AC a winner for me. Now that being said the " AC lite" offerings suck horribly. I get that they are budget but I would not even offer one to my mother in law.
I want receive sensitivity and antenna gain. Function matters a whole lot more vs cuteness.
Yes, and the OP is speaking about ISP services. 1) Outdoors, 2) multiple clients connected to the AP, 3) interference on spectrum… There’s a huge difference to having an AP indoors with 1 or 2 devices connecting to it, vs. outdoors and having multiple diverse clients at distance connecting to it.
I remain by what I said before… Not going to happen in an “ISP” environment.
So I am reading it like what is a good router for my customers.
If he is starting a WISP he will soon get a realistic expectation of customer speeds , TDMA, and half duplex TCP behavior and the why did I start a WISP moment
Yes I mean INDOOR router. All the structure and wireless network is made. We can test 100mbps+ to the CPE antenna, and now we want to keep this speed at home for a descent signal.
