I have a vlan of a cisco switch access port going to point to point mikrotik link (5GHz). The far end rb (433AH) has second 2.4 radio for AP with 360 Omni. An Ethernet port on 433 is connected to a 2nd 2.4 Ghz 60 degree sector AP.
I have ip connectivity to the radios on point to point link and both the APs.
The problem I have is that when a client connects and then reconnects to the AP it takes down Layer 2 connectivity on the network. I loose 4 to 5 pings to the all 3 radios (point to point links & 2nd AP) and clients connected to the APs loose internet connectivity for 4 to 5 pings. For example, if would change the frequency then clients disconnect and reconnect. As soon as the reconnect occurs connectivity for all other connected clients and to the point to point link radios is lost for 4 or 5 pings. Wireless on point to point and other clients remains up and is rock solid.
During increased traffic time at random the loss of IP transport also occurs.
I have been on witch hunt for several days/weeks cant come up with a solution. Anyone ever encountered something similar and solved the issue I would love to know if you’re willing to share
I should also mention that the vlan on the Cisco layer 3 switch is trunked to different AP (3rd) and connectivity to that AP and its clients is not affected.
Thank you,
Raymond
