Lost connection to the router via ETH1 (RB1100)

Hello all.

I got my hands on a new set of RB1100 today.

When I logged in to the webfig (192.168.88.1), the default firmware was v4 so I downloaded the v5 update and installed it via FTP and did a reboot via CLI.

The router boot up fine… and I was able to log in to the web interface as well.

Out of the sudden, I lost connection via ETH 1 and I was no longer able to log back in to the router. I tried to login to the CLI and also tried to PING the server as well.. however there wasn’t any response.

In addition, there wasn’t any link lights as well on the router ETH1 port.

What went wrong?

That’s not nearly enough information for even a wild guess.

Hook up a serial cable and look at the router config.
