Lots of ethernet errors on RouterOS Box

Ok, here is the scenerio. I have a current wifi backhaul that I want to traffic shape with a RouterOS PC. Now currently my Orinoco Radio and Foundry Fastiron talk together just fine. No ethernet errors on either side. When I put a Router OS box (Athlon 2Ghz, RouterOS 2.9.6, 1 SiS 900 Fast Ethernet, 1 NC100 NetworkEverywhere Fast Ethernet, 256MB Ram, CPU load never gets over 2pct) between them, then I record a fairly large amount of incrementing ethernet errors on both connections. Try switch out patch cables and same behavior. The Foundry Fastiron switch I use doesn’t autonegotiate well at all; so I set everything for manual 100base-FD. Also, I’ve tried Auto-negotiate and unchecking the box in RouterOS, only getting the same results.

I am simply using this in bridge mode by bridging both ethernet cards and using it much the same way as a Packeteer box. Haven’t set up any mangle rules or extra programming until I get the ethernet issue solved.

The data going through is a stead 400k-1.5Mb. I would think the system should be able to handle it without dropping packets. Any ideas?

Use different ethernet interfaces … im betting if you used intel cards it would work perfectly.

Thanks for the reply. I just got a new Linksys Etherfast 100 card and switched out the NetworkEverywhere. It is doing the exact same thing. Of course, I’m hoping I didn’t just grab the exact same chipset/card.
