Low speed in 5KM< link

I have here:

  • two piece of InterepochIWE3000
  • and two piece Senao 3054CB3+
  • with 24DBi and 19 Dbi antenna LMR 400 (3 feet) pigtail
  • with clear line of sight (200 meter above the ground

PROBLEM: its not getting even more than half megabyte

and I tried to use 5.8 converter from hyperlink with 200mw RF power using 22 DBI antenna and it is still same and even slower, I could not find any setting for ACK in device to adjust?

what could be the problem? there is one high powerline towers in between but its lower than my tower, could it damage my signal?

  • I tried mikrotik and atheros PCI the signal was -70 which seems to be fair
  • could set each end to connect at certail speed up to 36 mbps

some of those senao are defective, you may want to check that

thanks for prompt reply, but as a matter fact I bought 6 at first stage and returned them for warranty for some hardware issue and these are new one, and by the way they works fine in 1KM and below

I bet your ping times are high too.

Try the wireless legacy drivers and post your results. I know I can’t use the new wireless drivers on the 5213 cards I have.

Unfortunately you lost the bet, my ping time was 2ms all the way straight but pinging by large packets would go higher anyway.

do you have any idea how to change ACK and fragmentation in device? and I suppose I must turn of RTS? am I correct?

I had a problem with the iwe3000 also, it would connect but not pass traffic so I upgraded from the 2.8.11 to the 2.8.18 and it fixed it but it killed the speed of the 5ghz links, so I FTPed the legacy-wirless package and told it to downgrade, it rebooted and it all worked great after that.

And as far as the senao 3054cb3 I HAD 6 of them and I never got them to work worth a damn. They are crap.

I’ve got 2.8.18 now which is in fact 24 hour limitation and it is installed only at one side. the ping time is worse using it, from 1ms to 100ms randomly changing. Speed have been improved to 700kbps from 100kbps which is still not good but at least better.

should I use 2.8.11? does it detect atheros chipset?
