low speed on RB333

I replaced P3 900mhz wlan router with MT 2.9.46 for RB333 with MT v3.0rc6
On RB333 I’m running PPPoe server, hotspot, dhcp server, web proxy, few nat rules…

on P3 ther on 5ghz interface was aprox. 40-50mbps (tcp) speed in one direction using Nstream…
now on RB333 I only ges 13-15mbps speed with same configuration…

Is this because I’m running pppoe, hotspor server?ž

On the other side in using P3 and 5ghz interface…
Would be throughput better if I would use RB333 on the other side too?

Hi,

As far as my experience goes, running hotspot and a ppp server with nstreme on wireless puts quite a load in the CPU. Even though the RB333 is a PPC 266/333MHz with a 175mhz co-processor, I still think the 900Mhz P3 would perform better. As you could already see a difference in speeds after implemeting the RB. Maybe disable HotSpot or something else, or install more RB333’s to handle the othet functions…
