I have LtAP LTE kit installed on sailboat. sailboat is loacted in Croatia ( Mali Lošinj). I constantly have a bad signal from the operator. I have installed the latest patches. Placed the router on the outside of the vessel. When checking the signal (interfaces, LTE) I realized that I have very poor reception (-120dbm). On remote islands, the matter is not settled. At the same time, I must point out that everything works fine on the mobile phone.I understand that the antennas in the router are small. Can I solve the problem with an external antenna? Should I buy another device? What are you suggesting?
LtAP it’s really great device, but if you installed on a sailboat, obviously the internal tiny antenna is not enough to receive well the signal. I suggest use external antenna for better results.
To this you need install inside U.FL to SMA or U.FL to RP-SMA pigtails. Then use another external pigtails to make connection between LtAP and your antenna.
I’m going to do the same and the lte doens seems the problem. Every time I try, I had aprox. -60db My router is inside the boat and we cruise the complete coast.
I have problems to route the internal net to the lte, so I try from time to time and enjoy mostly the sun… so my lTab is not working and I use the old huawai…
