LtAP LTE6 kit router os 6 how to software select external LTE antenna

How do I select the SMA connected external antenna connection through the " MMCX connectors for external antennas (software selectable)" as suggested by mikrotik?
https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/UM/LtAP#LtAP-SIMcardconnectivity

I don’t have the specific unit. But MMCX on the board inside are for the 2Ghz Wi-Fi. And, AFAIK you’d have add your own pigtails to use them externally – and that’s what be software selectable.

I don’t think the cellular antenna is software selectable, and they use U.Fl connectors. I don’t the LTE6 kit to check, but if you open the modem my guess is you’ll likely see the internal antenna wired to the internal LTE antenna on the cover piece.

I have LtAP unit and I can say that you can’t select antena indoor/outdoor by config. LtAP comes with a little antenna inside and R11e-LTE6 module is connected to it.

If you want to use external antenna, you need open LtAP, disconnect the internal antenna and connect some pigtails U.FL to SMA or U.FL to RP-SMA, depending of your external antenna connection and/or external pigtails to use.

Info about my setup here.

Regards.

Thanks, on the inside I discovered the connectors.
" The Onboard PIF antennas built-in, as well as MMCX connectors for external antennas (software selectable)."

Are for the wlan I understand know.

The pigtal for the connection of a external antenna I will look at these.

Mikrotik has a part for it: https://mikrotik.com/product/acsmaufl

MMCX and U.FL are not the same.

And sorry for my mistake. I think on LTE instead Wi-Fi.

Can confirm that antenna is selectable:

Make sure that use pigtails that are MMCX to RP-SMA, don’t buy U.FL, they are used on this case for LTE interfaces.

Regards.

Hi can you help me please?'m not an advanced user or systems engineer. I have an LtAP lte6 kit, but my location has poor LTE reception and I need to boost the signal. Can you tell me how to connect an external LTE antenna to the LtAP lte6 kit? What equipment and settings should I use?

Watch this video to see what is needed (from around 2:30 to 5:15=:

You need to open the case, drill two holes and connect two external antenna pigtails.

Original Mikrotik pigtail is this one:

Hi, first I used generic U-FL to RP-SMA pigtails and attached to the case. Then I use RP-SMA to N pigtails (0.5 meter) from TP-Link and finally used L-COM sector antennas that works between 700-2700Mhz.

Sadly this last one is EOF.

In any case, I prefer actually see better and simpler options like ATL 5G for example. Probably during this year I will migrate all my network infraestructure to this.
