LTE and 3g

Hello.

I am using a LtAP Mini as 4G modem but when connected it gives me to types of LTE connections:
3G HSDPA
Evolved 3G (LTE)

I don’t understand really what it means and which is 4G, I can guess that ‘Evolved 3G (LTE)’ is 4G but maybe some of you can solve this question.

Mikrotik’s nomenclature where they call LTE “Evolved 3G” is unique in current world. Everybody else calls LTE (even the most basic one with 150Mbps DL and 50Mbps UL) 4G and for more modern LTE everybody adds additional suffixes such as 4G+ (and they talk about LTE-A or LTE-A Pro or LTE-Evolved or …).

However, standardization-wise speaking, Mikrotik is right. According to 3GPP papers, 4G (any technology, not only LTE) is supposed to support speeds of 1Gbps or more, and LTE state of art is coming there as we speak.
