Hi All,
I’m not familiar with router OS, but I could successfully set up LTE passthrough on a simple WAP-r device. This one works fine.
But I simply cannot figure out how to set the same LTE passthrough on my brand new Chateau LTE12.
I have ran out of tips. I haven’t been able to find a solution on the web.
Please someone help me.
I tried with basic settings removed from scratch, but I always get the same error message when I try to set the APN passthrough interface to any available interface: Passthrough not supported for this device (6).
If I add a new APN, then I can set the passthrough interface to any available, but when I select this new APN as the LTE APN profile, I get this error again.
The soultion might be simple, but I simply cannot find it.
Thank you.
SOLVED:
Mikrotik support pointed me to the right OS update: OS7beta2 development (arm). I downloaded the update, uploaded to root of Chateau, rebooted the router, waited for it to install the update and then the error message dissapeared.
If anyone might have the same problem with an out-of-the-box Chateau, update it first with the method above.
After update I could select on the default APN - passthrough device - e.g. eth4 - apply - OK.
I forgot to remove eth4 from the bridge, so I had to go to bridge - ports - delete eth4.
Then I could select it at passthrough interfaces.
Now if I plug my router WAN cable to Chateau eth4 port, my router gets the IP from the ISP directly.
If I want to manage Chateau, I plug a cable into any other port than 4, and I get a local IP from DHCP and I can winbox into it.
Or I can connect to one of the wlan interfaces with wifi and winbox into it.
Now passthrough is working OK.
