Im from Spanish company who bought hundreds of mikrotik devices for Wifi hotspot.
We have bought a Huawei ME909u-521 Mini-PCIe to do test, and it doesnt works in Mikrotik 411U 5G with firm 6.7.
Mikrotik doesnt detect the interface lte.
I get out the status file.
I have a Sierra Lte minipci and mikrotik detects the lte interface. And it works perfect.
Could you help us to said how configure the interface o if we hace to wait to new realese?
Check under system resource usb if you have a modem recognized there.
And then check if you have a USB with few channels recognized under /ports section.
looks like the card is not recognized at all in the board. Does it have any light indicator on the modem when the board is powered up?
Have you tried to use this card in a different 411U board or 912 board?
Hi.
The modem doesnt have any light.
It has not used in other board.
This board, im using, is the board where I inserted and accepted the LTE Sierra miniPCICard.
Im going to insert into another board and post again.
looks like the modem fails to recognize in the RouterOS. It could be a hardware problem maybe.
If you have a RB912 board you could try to check if it is recognized there.
I would suggest to use different band modem.
You can continue to use that Sierra modem which should be working ok.
in this support output file I see that the usb port is recognized and a USB port is recognized with 5 channels.
You can now try to use the ppp-out interface to connect to the internet.
The Modem Huawei is now working with PPP Client. The problem is the maximum speed is 14Mbps downlink. I dont know if PPP Client has limite speed beacuse with LTE interface (Sierra miniPCI), over the same net (movistar) and same place the speed is about 50Mbps.
Could you help me to configure the interface to get the optimum speed?
currently we can’t add support for LTE mode for those USB Huawei modems.
The only LTE modems we could try to add support is those that uses the web interface for configuration and connection and do not require any configuration using serial port. But we can’t guaranty that it could work for all of those modems.
The modem its a miniPCI modem like Sierra. So is it possible the support? and said us how to configure propertly. We are very interested in use Huawei miniPCI in LTE mode with high speed.
I am having also the same issue with the Huawei modem ME909u-521. My problem is that if I plugged the modem in, Mikrotik can recognize it, and can see under interface lte all information. But modem doesn’t have any usb ports! So I can not use any PPP client to dial.
I am currently running the latest ROS which is 6.10. With router board 411.
I had also bought a Sierra Wireless MC 7710 card! Which is also recognize it! It is not working at all. I can connect to the card through serial-port, but there is only shown the modem FW which is SWI (I think), and I can not get to it to work. I tried to upgrade FW of MC 7710 with no luck! I tried 4 notebooks which were also supported by that card, and nothing, I had bought a miniPCIe to PCI card and still can not to upgrade the firmware.
Any help would be very appreciate! As I am stuck with these problems for more then 3 months and it is really driving me crazy.
you need to update the modems firmware that supports the GPS serial port. Here are the info that I know, maybe there is even newer firmware:
ME909 V1R1 11.234.77.00.00 - NO GPS
ME909 V1R1 11.235.07.00.00 - GPS/Glonass
The modem firmware upgrade really solved the missing port problem.
Unfortunately we could not find yet working modem init AT commands to import gps data into Mikrotik.
try to connect the USB port of the modem using serial terminal that then here are the some commands you could try:
Enable GPS positioning: AT^WPDGP
Stop GPs positioning: AT^WPEND
Also contact Huawei to get some documentation how to check if you have GPS RADIO enabled on the current modem.
After entering that start command the usb port should report the NMEA output which you could use in the system gps menu in RouterOS.
