I am troubleshooting a recurring problem where the router reports that the LTE modem fails to start. The system shows the status “modem failed”, indicating that the LTE module does not initialize correctly. At the same time, the router behaves inconsistently: Wi‑Fi interfaces appear active, bridge ports look correct, and the DNS cache fills normally, but the network remains unstable and certain terminal commands produce unexpected results. The computer connected to the router also experiences unreliable connectivity.
Actions Already Taken
Performed a full hardware reset of the router.
Restored a previously working configuration.
Verified that Wi‑Fi interfaces are in a running state.
Checked bridge ports to ensure nothing is inactive.
Tested network connectivity from the computer using both automatic and manual configuration.
Confirmed that the DNS cache is populating, meaning the router is performing lookups.
Attempted to restart the LTE modem and related subsystems, but the “modem failed” error persists.
Why do u have all the packages enabled?
Uncheck everything but the packages that u absolutely need, this is a huge waste of ram and cpu and can cause driver issues, which can be a part of your problem.
It would also be appropriate to give examples, rather than speaking abstractly.
Was it Aintelligence that suggested you activate all the packets,
even the one you don't even know the server for?
Maybe you ran out of memory on the device and it can't initialize the modem...

No not an AI, and it was start before I install packages. I’m still a beginner when it comes to professional‑grade routers, but I’m learning fast. I really like the LTE version — it feels stable and good to use — but it becomes a bit unreliable after upgrades or configuration changes, which is why I ended up testing everything I could when the issue appeared.

My router keeps showing “LTE modem failed”, and the modem won’t initialize. I don’t need all the extra packages installed, but out of frustration I’ve tried everything anyway. I’ve reset the device, restored configs, checked Wi‑Fi, checked bridge ports, tested my computer, confirmed DNS lookups, and tried restarting the LTE subsystem. Nothing fixes the modem failure.
I’m still a beginner when it comes to professional‑grade routers, but I’m learning quickly and doing my best to troubleshoot the issue.
I’ve also tested the connection from both Linux and Windows. In Linux I manually brought the network interface up and assigned an IP to rule out OS‑side issues. In Windows I disabled conflicting adapters, checked drivers, and verified that the system wasn’t blocking discovery or ARP broadcasts. So I’ve covered both platforms to make sure the problem isn’t caused by my computer.
And to be clear: I actually like the LTE version of this device — it’s stable and feels good to use — but it seems a bit unreliable after upgrades or configuration changes.

How (which commands) did you actually "restart the LTE modem and related subsystems"?
I already try reinstall routeros, but will try wifi too. Just that my reset button looks like ot respond as great as should be.
