Lte Understand

Im trying to understand how to read these outputs from my LTE dish but I cant full understand what to make of it ..

the *1 on the interface also the readings when I monitor the interface.

I dont see RSSI. Is there enough info in these outputs for me to be able to position this antenna.

Remove “GSM” as the technologies on the lte1 interface, 3G likely too. I suspect the *1 is because there is no GSM with Verizon (and no 3G either).

RSRP is similar but better than RSSI. So you’re looking for a “bigger number”…but since they’re negative, than means a smaller value. e.g. -110 is a better signal than -120.

Is it picking gsm because there is no likely lte ? I’m working on this remotely so I’m worried I’ll lose connection and not get it back .. safe mode ??

You should be worried … because RSRP and RSRQ values are way too low to get decently stable connection. For those, RSRP should be higher than -105dBm, ideally better than -95dBm. RSRQ should be better as well, for decent performance RSRQ above -8dB is required.

I think it needs to be re-pointed. No setting is going to improve the signal remotely.

I would NOT change GSM/3G setting if you’re remote – but I suspect that why you’re seeing a *1.

If the carrier is Verizon Wireless as shown, there is only LTE. I’m not sure Verizon ever used GSM, and 3G support was sunset at the start of the year.
