MAC authentication via wired interface

Apologies if this is already covered, but I could not find an answer in my search. Is there a way to mac authenticate over a wired interface? I’d like to use Mikrotiks to manage bandwidth and user authentication on otherwise bridged point to multipoint wireless networks. The mikrotik would sit between the AP and the egress to the internet. The bandwidth policing works like a charm, but I am a bit stuck on the mac auth.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, it is possible with HotSpot for the wired clients.

  1. Setup HotSpot with MAC-authetnication,
  2. Use User-Manager to manage HotSpot MAC-users.

Rats. I am getting an error “input does not match any value of subscriber”. Am I missing a step? I had to create profile hsprof1 prior to typing in the first command, but I do not see where I can manually create a subscriber. Thanks again!
