MAC ping vs regular ping

Hello guys, I am having an odd problem. I have a healthy wireless point to point wireless link ( signal -58, signal to noise -37, ccq 99%/100%, nstreme enabled, xr5 cards) the link has been working perfectly for the last year. Now I am having an odd behavior, when I ping from router a to router b (a and b being the wireless link routers) I have packet loss, but when I do a MAC ping I don’t have any loss. What could be happening???

Any chance that the IP address has been moved to the wrong interface?

Its a really hard thing to troubleshoot from one line like that, what happens if you Mac-Telnet and reboot both sides?

Have you done any hardware changes
Firmware updates

or so forth?

Hello CyberT, I have rebooted both sides and nothing!, as far as upgrades and/or changes nothing has changed.
It’s really odd!

What is % of the loss? And have you tried pinging with size=500, 1000, 1450? Does the loss grow with packet size?

Hello dasiu, the % of the loss is about 1%, for size 500 and 1000, for 1450 it goes up to 4%.
