Macbook and Mikrotik

Regards Gents,

i have a problem and i wish if you could help me with it, am using a macbook pro and am using the winbox with it to configure the mikrotik routers, the problem is that i can’t update the files for the mikrotik or make any copy or paste from router to my MAC and vice versa, please advice.

thanks

Use SCP/SFTP/FTP to transfer files, and SSH for CLI administrative work. All those clients are built into OS X.

Be sure to have enabled FTP server in your RouterBoard. Go to IP => Services and enable FTP.
Then, use any FTP Client software on your MAC and transfer the files to your RB.

since winbox is not native Mac/BSD/Linux app it is ran using wine/darwine, unfortunately dragging and dropping of files is not supported if winbox is used in that manner.

As other already suggested use some other means of transfer files like SFTP, SCP, FTP etc.

I’ve been using a Mac for three years now and I can confirm the answers given above. Winbox runs well under Darwine/Crossover except for the files’ copy/paste & drag’n’drop.
Some times it goes mad with winbox-terminal and MAC connectivity butfor the latter I think is as frequent as under windows (native or virtualized).
