make a backup of router configuration

Hi,

Please who can help me?

How I can make a backup of router configuration and save it on another device (which have XP operation system) by save it on USB Flash memory. or we can not do that.

Really what i want to do is to get this file which include the configuration and use it in another router without doing mew configuration.

Hi,

you can enter via colsole, telnet or SSH and type:

export file=name.rsc

Then you can download the rsc file with the whole configuration. You need to change the MAC addresses or leave it without any parameter including mac addresses.

The RSC file is like a TXT you can open it with notepad, wordpad or something similar.

Ok, I enter through Telnet, and do the command: export file=name.rsc

but how we can download the file??

or just pop open the File tab and drag the created file out of Winbox onto your desktop.
