i would like config network for offshore vessels (maximum distance 5 km). each vessel have own network. and each one connect to workshop in beach. i select omnitik. Ships are not fixed, is it possible The network launched?
I did a project like this once. It was tricky as the ships signal needed 3 directional antenna on the ship to get good signal from shore as an omni was not quite good enough signal so I had to write software using php and the api to select best signal from the antennas . Got it working well after a lot of testing. I wouldn’t give away the software though cos it’s valuable.
I would put few narrow antennas on the shore covering the wanted angle of the sea and maybe something like omnitik as client on the ships. But it is more or less a question of trying…
