make roaming with 2 wifi and 1 hotspot

Hello
I’m using Router RB133 V5.24 with 2 wireless cards
the are both in a bridge and the hostspot is configure to the bridge (all is working good)
my hotspot is free from use (no pass needed)
both of them have the same ssid:“test” but 1 is on 2412MHZ and the other is on 2452MHZ .
this is all the config I have.

now I want to make that if I connect to the first WiFi(2412) and them go the where only 2 is available I wont be asked to do the login page again and I will still be at the hotspot , or (if it easier to do) if I connect to 1 and lost connection and return to it and\or go to 2 all this is up to 5 minutes - I won’t be asked to see the login page .

is it possible and understood what I wont?

You can try mac cookie and cookie for login in your hotspot.

I want it to be done automatically.

I believe you want only one device running the hotspot (including dhcp, etc) and the second device acting only as a bridge and the two connected either via cable, wds, or something similar.

let me explain again:
I have 1 RB with 2 RF-cards
both of them are in bridge 10.0.0.1/24
all the hotspot configuration is from the bridge
I want that if I move from 1 rf card to another I won’t be ask to login again .

That helps a lot, I thought you were talking about two different access points. So there is just a single device, with a single bridge. Is the DHCP server assigned to that bridge as well?

You may need to make sure that your DHCP server does not have “Add ARP for Leases” checked, even if the server is assigned to the bridge. I am not 100% sure that this will be required in this configuration.

It sounds like there is no wireless security, is that the case? (or are they atleast equal)?

Do the clients automatically connect to the network, but just need to authenticate with the hotspot? Or do they need to re-connect to the wireless as well? If so, many wireless adapters or mobile devices need to have an option similar to “allow roaming between access points” enabled.

I know I have a couple dozen access points connected to the same hotspot and it works fine with alternating frequencies, but none of my access points have two radios but I don’t see that being a significant hurdle.

  3. clients automatically connect to the network, but just need to authenticate with the hotspot. - when they see my network on the air and connect to it - they get to my login page that say - “Welcome to David WiFi , press the image to start surfing for free”.

I have change the idle time and timeout to 00:04:00 (4 minutes) - still doesn’t help

When you look at the ARP table for the clients, do they all show the actual MAC address of the client or are they showing the MAC of either the bridge or one of the wireless cards?

I have found my mistake
the idle timeout was too low this is why I it’s disconnect ..
