Making APs work as a mesh - E.g., Netgear WAX220

I have never used my MT router for wireless operation, but I want to try. Can I use the MT router itself to make non-mesh APs work together in a mesh?

My starting point is a great deal on some Netgear PoE Wireless Access Points (WAX220). They don’t come with mesh software, but they do have great performance, low cost and PoE. They have no mesh software capabilities themselves - they function only as discrete APs.

Can I make these behave like a mesh network? I assume they must support some protocol or other…???

Your choice of words makes it confusing.

If you want to run a mikrotik router to a switch and connect all these APs to it… they will work if you configure them all with the same SSID and passwords.

Mesh is one of those words that people attribute to everything.

You need to explain more specifically if you want an answer. (Avoid buzz words)
