My specific problem problem doesn’t really matter though I will explain it in a moment. My real question is this: how do you get RouterOS to EXPLAIN a state, like Invalid? It’s pretty obtuse when, for example, the DHCP-Server kicks into “Invalid” state, but won’t tell you why, not via the /log print, nor via /ip dhcp-server print detail. The OS KNOWS why it’s “Invalid” and it really ought to be telling the user somewhere, my question is where?
My specific problem was that after installing the user manager package on RouterOS 4.7 (user-manager version 4.7 as well) my DHCP-Server instances will not come out of “Invalid” state, and I can’t even begin to fix it because it doesn’t mention any reason in the log, or anywhere that I can find, as to WHY it’s invalid.
Uninstalling user-manager fixed the problem (which might have fixed via disable too, I haven’t tested that).
So can anyone answer either of these problems? Most preferably, how can I get RouterOS to fess up and tell me WHY a particular error state exists, even if that means somehow pointing it’s logs at a syslog server.
