Management OOB functional under SwitchOS

The Mikrotik Sales-Support couldn’t answer this question for me, maybe someone here can answer it.

We would like to purchase a couple of CRS309-1G-8S+IN switchs for our storage network.

SwitchOS would be our preferred operating system, but we don’t know if the management OOB port of the CRS309 works with SwitchOS, or if it only works
with RouterOS, like some other Mikrotik-Hardware we bought in the past.

Hi, TMSpro!

The CRS309 when booted into SwOS will use configuration where all switch ports are connected together into same LAN, including ether1.

But you can make this work with few steps:

  1. Configure ether1 as isolated port, see the 3rd example here.
  2. Keep the “Allow From Ports” enabled only on ether1, see the System page.
  3. Consider disabling RSTP on the ether1.
