Mangle Problem

Hi all. I have an interesting problem that hopefully someone can help with.

I am currently using a RB450G as a DHCP server for some WiMax gear that I have deployed. This WiMax equipment requires at DSCP 6 tag on packets in order to match to the managment of the CPE radios. The only way that these radios will get a managment IP is for them to receive it via DHCP with a DSCP tag of 6 on the DHCP offer from the DHCP server. To try to achieve this I have created a Mangle rule that changes the DSCP value of all packets on the outbound LAN interface to have a value of 6. This seems to work for all traffic but DHCP Discovery and Offer broadcasts. For some reason the router won’t change the default DSCP of 0 to a 6. I am starting to think that becuase these are broadcasts that the router will not even pay attention to the layer 3 DSCP info.

Has anyone else run into this problem? Is this a bug? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I just don’t know what else to try.

Thanks!
