mAntBox 15ax is a successor of mAntBox 15s (ac or n) .
We can not set the existing frequencies and the exitsing tx-power we are using. How Mikrotik thinks that we would migrate our systems to this new ax product line?
We can’t exchange our AP easily. Mikrotik doesn’t tell us that we can’t upgrade to this product line without big restrictions…
Can we expect some solution in this problem?
The only solution is to forget about superchannel altogether … it wasn’t obeying country-specific regulatory constraints and as such is illegal. Since majority of users didn’t care about country regulations (and created havoc), EU (and many other countries) now require implementation which reduces possibility of operating wireless equipment outside allowed parameters.
If you have special legal arrangements (e.g. leased frequency spectrum outside ISM band), then you’ll have to act professionally and purchase professional equipment (a bad joke, but … yeah).
Yes, I can feel your pain. But I can also feel the pain of my weather radar colleagues and in this case I’m with weather radar colleagues. And I don’t accept any excuses and wishful thinking.
Additional problem with this is that the MT implementation of the regulatory constraints (which in themselves are a good idea) isn’t correct, so not everybody can use the frequencies and TX power they should be able to.
mbovenka if you found some differences, report it to support@mikrotik.com so that it does not look like baseless accusation
to my knowledge country regulations are correct
is well known that ax devices uses different wireless settings than previous models, i think is a matter of due diligence to keep you updated about the products you are going to install in your network, i understand that can be hard and time consuming but it is how it is
The “restrictions” are the result of illegal use…
Honestly, i think we all “tested out” what MT WiFi can do/provide us on “unlimited” superchannel settings and now we are disappointed with range and performance. Honestly, from my point of view is Wifiwave huge step forward, im getting wireless speeds and stability which i never had from those devices earlier. On the other hand, it is sad that we no longer have the option of deciding how we want to use our devices and possibly suffer the consequences, but if I’m not mistaken this is already the law for manufacturers.
You know, generally speaking, I’m not that smart when it comes to this “life” thing. I get myself in trouble with basic things, and communication and understanding others certainly aren’t my strongest point… But even I have always known and understood not to just broadcast on random frequencies, which, as far as I’m aware, is what the superchannel mode is mainly for.
Though, MT should maybe develop a little itty bitty “enable-superchannel” package, if they haven’t yet, to be honest. It seems like it’s a relatively common thing for people with licenses to use non-standard frequencies to have MikroTik as their first thought when choosing wireless equipment, probably because of the famed superchannel mode. I’d try and keep these customers, if I were them. If the Qualcomm chipsets in question would even support it, that is.
OMG this is amazing
I bought eight NETMETAL AX to replace eight Mimosa C5C.
I am licensed for 4950 Mhz to 5150 Mhz because the noise is horrible in this area and I cannot use these frequencies due to Mikrotik’s wonderful regulations.
What am I supposed to do with those devices now?
And the investment made…
