mANTBox to hEX S

Hi All,

I recently bought the Mikrotik hEX S to use as gateway to provide WiFi service with an hotspot and access codes, however, I need to acquire an AP to propagate the service, someone recommended me to buy the mANTBox 2 12s but I see that this last device use RouterOS, so, I thought to connect mANTBox to the hEX S, I will have some issues? I mean, just I need that AP propagate the signal but the features and the management will be on the hEX S, or, you can recommend me some APs to do this?

With ROS it’s quite easy to actually disable all routing functionality and only use device as ethernet switch and AP .

Hi Carlos,

The mANT mentioned will be fine for what you want. Although all (well most) MikroTik kit has fully fledged RouterOS running on it, it’s incredibly versatile in that it can be configured to do more or less anything you want. If you wanted to achieve what you said in your OP you can simply run the mANT as an AP with flat bridge and an IP for managing it. Very simple to set up.

I was recently in a hotel that used SXT2’s for distribution with a MT hotspot back end and it was a great end user experience.
