Manual firmware upgrade for EP06-A

I got an updated firmware from Quectel for my EP06-A (EP06ALAR02A08M4G_01.011.01.011), which Mikrotik isn't distributing (yet?) apparently. I'm stumped on how to apply the update on my SXT-R.

I understand it should look something like this:

/interface lte firmware-upgrade lte1 upgrade=yes firmware-file="something"

But the file I was given is a zip file that is 83MB. That's too big to store in memory, so I can't upload it via Files and can't host it somewhere and feed a link to the "firmware-upgrade" command because it still doesn't have enough space to download it.

These are the files inside. What am I supposed to do with this?

Update outside the MT device if possible.

I could, but I was hoping to not have to climb up on my roof

Maybe this will help.

Qflash

Do make sure you read everything first.

You will need to get a Mini PCIe to USB adapter.

Maybe others can help.

I haven't got into LTE modems yet.

Yes, I'm aware of how to do it with QFlash. I did it that way when I first got the device. But I was hoping to do it in the RouterOS terminal so I don't have to retrieve it from off my roof, and minimize the downtime.

It's clearly possible to update the firmware from within RouterOS since it's done with the firmware that's distributed by Mikrotik. I just don't know what format that is compared to what I got directly from Quectel.

For my knowledge.

What adapter did you use and can you post a link for it?

TIA

It's a mini PCIe to USB adapter. The one I have came with the modem when I bought it off of AliExpress back in 2020. That listing doesn't exist anymore. The adapter I have is similar to this one: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005008080890744.html
