mAP Lite cannot be installed

Hi,

My issue is as follows:

  • I’ve bought an mAP Lite (RBmAPL-2nD) device


  • my home network configuration consists of a TVCable modem (that is as well a router) and some switches


  • to the device is plugged an Ethernet cable connected with a switch; I use this cable normally to connect my notebook with the Internet


  • WiFi LED blinks (slowly), Ethernet LED lights constantly, AP/CAP LED is off; PWR is on, of course


  • but the Winbox app, run on some other PC (that is connected with the same network and has access to all other comps, printers etc.), doesn’t detect the device (the Neighbors tab is empty and clicking the Refresh button doesn’t help)


  • ping with 192.168.88.1 doesn’t work


  • when I scan the whole 192.168.. address range (with the SoftPerfect network scanner) a device at the address 192.168.0.56 is detected, that has MAC address the same as the address placed on the device as “E01”


  • trying to use this particular MAC to connect (via Winbox) doesn’t succeed


  • trying to open a Web site at this address also fails (timeout)

Have I missed something? Have you got any idea how to make this pretty device working?

Map Lite is an routed AP by default, and its Ethernet port is WAN port, so you can not connect to it for security reasons (you can change that).
You need to connect via Wifi and then Winbox can connect.
