Hello! I need help…
I buy mikrotik mAP Lite.
ID: RBmAPL-2nD
Already I have fully worked RB951G-2HnD with internet access.
Earlier I use second notebook at another room connected by 20 meters local cable to ether3-slave-local interface rb951G. And surfing internet without problem.
And now I want to connect my notebook to Mikrotik mAP Lite by Wi-Fi from mAP Lite and with Internet access.
Also I have Xiaomi Mi Box, and why I buy mAP Lite - because I need connect Xiaomi Mi Box and Laptop to internet by mAP Lite Wi-Fi that will get internet flow from local cable RB951G-2HnD
I connect mAP Lite by local cable from ether3-slave-local interface rb951G.
I can connect to Web-GUI mAP Lite from my iPAD to setup it, I connect to wi-fi called Mikrotik-FA0247
And now I don’t know what I need to setup…
I try to read many forums and google but unfortunately… I am complete noob…
Can you help me please setup mAP Lite? I am totally noob…
This is small scheme
My best guess would be that you want your mAP lite configured as accesspoint.
Just get rid of the configuration, place everything in a bridge and configure WiFi as required.
When I change mode to Bridge, I lost connection via Web from iPAD…
I try do this steps but after bridge - i cant access to mAP from iPAD
And I cant connect via Winbox from locally PC, because I dont know which MAC address…
At address list I see only rb951…
If both devices have default configuration, there is one problem that could cause this. All MikroTik devices want to have the internal interface as 192.168.88.0/24. You can’t do this on both sides of the mAP-lite. So for this reason, you need to:
Change the IP address (and DHCP info) on the mAP-lite.
Follow the previous advice about bridging ports together. You might be able to just choose “basic AP” in the quick set menu and apply it, not sure.
Bump the thread! Maybe anyone now have a solution? I have a RB951Ui 2HnD as main router and two(maybe more later) mAP lite (RBmAPL 2nD), that I want to use as a WIRED repeater. And because of a distance I don’t want to use them in WDS. Any input?
In case the additional ap is wired, use ap bridge mode of wlan bridged to the ethernet. Set the same wifi parameters you use at main ap, just move the frequency in order prevent overlapping and mutual interference. Or think about capsman.
