I just got a map lite for use in a small office, three small rooms, located centered at the hall. The map is used as a hotspot/ap for no more than 5 clients at the time. the map does the routing and hotspot service.
My question is, what range should i expect? four meters away, with line of sight and i get a major speed penalty, is this normal? A few more steps back and i get unusable speeds.
It is a tiny device, but i kinda hoped that i would get two rooms worth of coverage.
The device is more of a portable AP for a hotel room, not something for multiple rooms.
However, major speed drop at 4 meters is not really acceptable. Post your config and signal levels please
Normis in the real wolrd interference may be the cause of bad performance also with router with 5 db antenna at short range if the eviroment is crowled. The mAP series is a good product in the middle of nowhere or very short range wifi AP
We use lot of mAPs (non lite) as router with our cambium or ubiquti wireless network turning off the wireless
