I’m wondering if the mAP has a 5V regulator for the USB port output.
i.e. whether I can power it 12V via the DC jack (necessary for PoE-out to a camera) and still have 5V supplied to a USB OTG modem.

Tested, RBmAP2nD outputs 5V on USB when powered via 12V adapter.
Perfect, thanks for confirming.
Please tell me whether it is possible to connect power via micro USB(powerbank) and connect 3G modem to use it as a portable device.
Officially no, but some posts suggest you can do it with the right Y-connectors

Watch out for the overall current draw though. The mAP has a maximum potential draw of 1A at 5V, and a 3G modem will consume a fair chunk too.
