mavericks

Hi All

anyone here tested winbox for OSX Mavericks?

Thanks

Winbox in Winebottler works fine in Mavericks

Problem is that Mavericks are not delivered with X11 required by WINE. It is a little bit tricky to make WinBox running again.

Anyway - will ever Mikrotik make WinBox for Mac OSX like native app ? Please ! :sunglasses:

No, it works normally if you use WineBottler wrapper. Like this one:
http://www.mikrotik.com/download/share/winbox.zip

Or you must install X11 or http://xquartz.macosforge.org/landing/

IM running Mavericks as well and WinBox works BUT I can’t drag and drop files to winbox to update my RB450Gs???

Is this winbox or a limitation of wine / inbox on MAC?

I am running Mavericks on a iMac 21.5 w/ i5 and using Wine Version 1.6-rc5 and X11 and Winbox works great. It runs great and I can drag and drop files just fine. tried on 411,750,RB1100,493G,RB2011 etc.
And I can open as many sessions that I want.

Regards,
Josh

Hi

after installs it run 2x but after then doesnt work at all. maybe i should try wine

thanks

The pre-made package that is floating around on this forum (http://www.mikrotik.com/download/share/winbox.zip) will crash occasionally (usually when Mavericks tries to sleep the program).

It will still look like its running fine, but the window bar at the top disappears and then it won’t accept keyboard input, but everything is updating just fine and you can use the mouse just fine.

Learn to use the web or console, its harder but you won’t be stuck when winbox fails on you…

PS.
You won’t hear anything about issues on this forum. Everything works perfectly in MikroTik land. Its your config or your computer. Even though this happens on all three macs I own.

I thought this forum was ONLY about issues?

Anybody can create a wrapper using WineBottler. Try it yourself. It doesn’t crash on any of our Mavericks.

Thanks for proving my point

It is always your computer/config. It always works fine on their end.

But you can’t ignore that it works for other people above too?
Did you install X11 or Xquartz? Did you try installing Xcode and Command Line tools from the Apple Store?

Try this http://h.facchinibr.net/MikrotikWinbox.dmg

works fine in Mavericks 10.9.4 !
